October isn’t just about Halloween and haunted houses, it’s also the month chosen for remembering and recognizing breast cancer patients and survivors. More than one in ten women will face an invasive breast cancer diagnosis during the course of her lifetime, making the disease one of the most common types of cancer.
Double-board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Newman has performed numerous breast reconstruction surgeries to help women who have undergone partial or full mastectomies regain an approximation of their pre-surgery physical appearance. Cancer touches each of us during the course of our lives, and fighting against cancer is critically important for the future.
So this October, think pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And remember that reconstruction surgery is available from Dr. Newman if you or a loved one will be undergoing breast cancer treatment.
