I often get the surprised look from patients when they realize I can treat them for their skin cancer. In fact, plastic surgeons can remove all types of skin cancer. Frequently, dermatologists or ENT physicians refer patients to plastic surgeons when they feel a more extensive reconstruction may be necessary. However, plastic surgeons can manage any skin cancer regardless of it’s size! Primary basal cell, squamous cell and melanomas are the most common skin cancers treated and often be taken care of in the office on an outpatient basis.
