QUICK REFERENCE
Are you living with a tattoo that you wish to remove? Perhaps you got it when you were young, and it is no longer meaningful, or maybe it reminds you or an unhappy memory. No matter the reason, laser tattoo removal using the Q-switched laser can help. This laser is the best choice for removing tattoos of all colors for a fresh start!
What is the Q-Switched Laser?
The Q-switched laser is the ideal tool for removing complex and multi-colored tattoos without scarring. Only Q-switched lasers are able to produce the amount of energy needed to remove both dark and bright tattoos.
Who is a Good Candidate for the Q-Switched Laser?
Healthy individuals who wish to remove tattoos without subsequent scarring can often benefit from this treatment. Q-switched lasers are effective for all skin types, though complete pigment removal may be more difficult in those with lighter skin. A consultation is needed to determine if the Q-switched laser treatment is the best solution for you.
The Q-Switched Laser Procedure
During a laser tattoo removal treatment, laser light is applied to the tattoo. The light is then selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. By absorbing the laser energy, the ink particles heat up and shatter. In the weeks following the treatment, the body’s immune system removes the shattered ink particles, causing fading of the tattoo.
Depending on the size and color of your tattoo, multiple treatment sessions will be needed. Most patients need 6-12 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart.
